It is the condition where the nipple is at the same level of the breast or it is inverted. This problem causes both aesthetic problems and functional problems related to breastfeeding. Inverted nipple is caused by the shortness of the milk ducts. It is possible to correct inverted nipples with a surgery made under local anesthesia, which takes about one to two hours. With a surgery, the nipples are brought to their normal anatomical position. It takes about two to three days for patients to return to their routine activities and work.
